Have Your Garden Make a Statement ?
The type of garden you have or want to have depends totally on the climate that you live in. For those that go through the cold winters and the wet springs their garden planning starts early in the season in anticipation of looking forward to the summer blooms.
In most cases, it is probably better to plan your garden before you are actually ready to start to plant it. Gardens don’t have to be commonplace and they don’t have to be plain meaning simply consisting of flowers. Use your imagination and put your creativity to work in this area.
All flowers don’t have to be put in the ground, as there are many different objects that you can use to make some beautiful creative displays that really bring character to your garden. If you don’t have anything laying around the home that will serve as containers for your flowers then simply start doing some flea market shopping.
Don’t look for the commonplace items look for things that are unusual. For example, an old washtub makes perfect setting for a group of flowers. Even a simple pail works well. Then don’t pass up that old wheelbarrow that maybe the wheels are falling off. It would make a beautiful display tucked away in a part of your backyard that maybe the soil isn’t so good for growing in.
Let’s consider some garden art. Here is where it really gets interesting because anything basically goes. As long as it will withstand the weather then there’s no reason why it can’t go in the garden. You can set themes in your gardens by using different ceramic pieces.
You could go with the whimsical gnome families. Then if you wanted, you could go with the mystical dragons, wizards, and gargoyles for example. Perhaps if you are really partial to farm animals then there is nothing wrong with having a farm garden.
The whole idea of having a garden that makes a statement about you is to allow you to be you and do what you want in your outdoor masterpiece. Once you start going beyond the conventional or the routine ways of decorating outdoors you are going to find that your imagination is just beginning. No doubt, you are going to come up with all kinds of wonderful ideas. It won’t be long before your garden starts to become a topic of conversation whenever you have guests over to enjoy your new found art.
