While it is true that spending days and days of devoted , finding the time to do that is a completely different story. It is because of this reason, that many people invest the money in getting help from professional lawn care specialists. You have to spend days and days on a boat, if you just spent a couple hours here and there on it you could still have a lawn that looks pretty nice. Pay attention to the steps below and you can have some shortcuts to help you with lawn care and maintenance.

Fertilizing, Controlling Your Weeds, Grooming Your Yard

Doing the above, of course is the best thing that she can do if you want a great looking lawn. That brings us back to the original situation though, which is the time factor. If you can spend a few hours after work or before or even during weekends, fertilizing, pulling out the weeds, and carefully trimming and grooming your lawn, then good for you. However, if you are a little pressed for time and you need a decent-looking lawn in a hurry, follow the lawn care help tips we have below.

Tip #1 – Water

In order for your grass to grow green you need to give the water. Make sure that your lawn care help includes a good deep watering at least a couple of times a week. This is an essential part of good lawn help and maintenance that should not be forsaken. A good sprinkler system is by far the easiest and best way to give your lawn the water that it needs. This especially works if you are having a party and you want your lawn to look great even if close inspection might reveal otherwise.

All you need to do is throw the sprinkler on the lawn both on the morning before the party, and lightly on the day of the party as well. Make sure you take receipt of the word lightly as you don’t want to have a wet lawn when your guests arrive. When you give your lawn these two shots of water, it will increase the speed in which your lawn will start to green up.

Tip #2 – Mow

Another great lawn care help tip is mowing. Forget about pulling all the clover or dealing with all that crabgrass before mowing. If you’re get together is happening the next day, then you’re not going to have enough time to handle the uneven texture that your lawn might have.

Here’s all that you need to do: on the afternoon of the day before your party, give the lawn a nice mowing, weeds and all. Be sure and remember that you want to mow your lawn in the afternoon because you want that morning watering to have time to dry out.

The thinking behind this tip is that you are trying to make your lawn appear as if it is all green and groomed, and the slight differences in the texture won’t be noticed. It is always possible of course, the somebody may take a close inspection of your yard and notice some stray clippings, but that’s getting kind of petty. When pressed for time, the end result is worth it. Besides, it is always nice to have the nice fresh green smell of freshly mowed lawn during an outside party.

If you don’t feel up to doing it yourself then you can find our more about lawn care service by visiting http://gardeninglawncare.com

You can truly get a lawn that is absolutely beautiful by being devoted to your lawn care , but it isn’t always easy to find the time to do it. In fact, it is precisely for this reason that homeowners enlist the help of lawn care help specialists. You can still have a nice lawn though, even if you just have a few hours to devote to it. Pay attention to the steps below and you can have some shortcuts to help you with lawn care and maintenance.

Fertilizing, Controlling Your Weeds, Grooming Your Yard

Of course, that is the ideal thing to do if you really want a great looking lawn. Doing that though, brings us to the original problem, which is a lack of time. If you can spend a few hours after work or before or even during weekends, fertilizing, pulling out the weeds, and carefully trimming and grooming your lawn, then good for you. If you can’t find the time however, and you would really like to enjoy a decent looking lawn in a relatively quick timeframe, then you need to follow the tips that we have located below.

Tip #1 – Water

In order for your grass to grow green you need to give the water. Make sure that your lawn care help includes a good deep watering at least a couple of times a week. This is critical for maintaining your lawn, and you should not forget to do it.

The two shots you have given will increase the speed with which your lawn “greens” up.

Tip #2 – Mow

Another tip to help you with lawn care, is mowing your lawn. Don’t be concerned with the clover, or dealing with the crabgrass before you mow your lawn. If your party is tomorrow then you really do not have enough time to take care of the uneven texture of your lawn.

One of your guests could possibly notice upon closer inspection a few stray clippings but that’s no big deal really. When pressed for time, the end result is worth it. Besides, the fresh, green smell of the freshly mowed lawn is a pleasant addition to any outside party.

As time goes by, the dirt in your lawn becomes more compressed. Mainly, this occurs due to foot traffic or rolling large machines, such as lawn mowers over it throughout the seasons. Your lawn may also become compacted if it has a heavy composition of clay which is a very dense material.

Generally, plants and grass do not do well in compacted soil. The roots of plants require oxygen to help them grow, but compacted soil is so dense that it has much of the air squeezed out of it. Added to that, many beneficial insects find compacted soil so dense, inhospitable, and difficult to bore through that, in frustration, they look for a friendlier environment, possibly in the yard of your neighbor. Over the years as the grass roots get less and less oxygen and nutrients delivered to them because of the impacted soil, your grass slowly begins to suffocate and starve.

But how do you know if your dirt is too compacted? One very easy method it to take your screwdriver and try pushing it into the dirt. You should do this when the ground is dry. If you get a lot of resistance, then it is probably a sign be a sign that your soil is too densely packed. If the dirt gives way without too much effort, then it’s probably ok.

One of the main factors contributing to dense soil is not enough of humus in the soil. Humus is the material that is left behind after microbes have finished digesting organic matter such as lawn clippings, decaying plants, food garbage, and so on. When the microbes have completed their work, what is left is a dark moist substance that is incredibly rich in nutrients and trace minerals called humus.

In addition to scott’s lawn care products, you might try humus. Humus is a bona fide “super food” and by occasionally spreading it on your lawn’s surface or mixing it with your lawn’s top soil, you can invigorate your entire lawn. Humus regenerates your soil by restoring lost nutrients to it. It is a very spongy material and, particularly if your soil has a high percentage of clay, it will make your soil less dense. And unlike many chemical fertilizers, humus will not burn your lawn or other garden plants and it’s very difficult to give your lawn too much of it.

If you have the room in your back yard, you can choose to produce your own humus. It takes time, but with the right equipment, it’s not difficult at all. Otherwise, there are many organic garden centers where you can find organic, fully decomposed humus

Soil rich in humus also has another great benefit. It helps to keep your grass roots moist by preventing water evaporating from the lawn. This not only means that you need to water less, but also your lawn will be less susceptible to periods of rain draught. This is especially true if you have a sandy type of soil which tends to have difficulty retaining water.

Many gardeners believe that the high concentration of nutrients in humus that it passes onto the grass, helps the grass to fight off disease and bacteria.

Just like the human body, the health of your lawn is very much dependent on what you feed it. If you feed it junk food, which is what many chemicals are, your grass will grown but it will not be strong. If you feed it humus which is the equivalent of giving it vitamins, minerals and proteins – your lawn will grow to be strong and healthy.

Each homeowner wants to have the best looking lawn and will use all the available tools to maintain their lawn. Many people wrongly assume that only professional help can result in a gorgeous garden. This is not even a little bit true. Hiring a professional will definitely ease your work, but you can have a beautiful lawn without the help of a professional, as well.

Though there is no shortage of lawn maintenence equipment, there are a few that are critical for the general maintenence of a good looking lawn. If you dont’t need these tools, lawn care would simply be impossible. Some of these crucial tools are lawnmowers, rakes, aerators and shears.

Aerators are also quite important for lawn health because they create cavities, holes on the top layer of the soil. The allows the ground to move in a better way. In other words, it is because of aeration that water and nutrients penetrate the soil and reach the roots. But this is not all, is increases the oxygen levels in the soil and thus helps the roots to be stronger.

Lawnmowers have great utility in giving a neat and tidy look to the blades of the grass. Since it trims the dead grass and helps in the growth of healthy grass, it provides a great service to your lawn. If you do choose to not purchase the recommended tools for your lawn, you must use a lawnmower which is extremely important.

Shears are a type of tool that is used to maintain the hedges of the lawn by cutting and trimming it as necessary. If you have a creative streak in you, then you can even design your hedges according to your fancy with the help of shears. So, it is a very important tool for your lawn or garden.

Other than the afore mentioned tools, rakes are very important to the health of your lawn. With the help of rakes, you can remove the leaves from your Los Altos garden. This is a very important thing to do as leaves that pile up do not let water and sunlight reach your grass and thusly the grass could die.

Getting these tools will not be hard as most hardware store or your neighborhood home improvement store will have these immportant tools. So, if you use these tools for maintaining your lawn, there is no reason why you should not have a glowing and healthy garden throughout the year and that too, without the assistance of professionals who specialize in metal landscape edging.

Oxygen, food, and water are critically important for the root systems of your grass and plant life. In compact dirt, however, these ingredients can have a hard time getting to the roots. In addition to compacted dirt, thatching is another common yard problem that can possibly choke the grasses in your yard. If either of these conditions endure, the air and moisture will slowly get squeezed out of the soil. Your plants and grasses in your garden will become progressively weaker at they begin to starve and eventually your grasses will die.

Over the years, if your yard goes through the normal wear and tear that yards do, it is bound to become compacted. Yards are constantly trampled on by people, animals, equipment, and so on. Over the years, unless something is done, naturally the soil will become more compacted and hard.

In order to help the situation, you basically have two options available to you. You can take on the big job of tilling the lawn, which will take you quite a bit of time. Or you can use a lawn aerator to create air pockets in your soil that will allow nutrients to reach the grass and plant roots.

Core aeration is one of the best fall lawn care advice. It is an intense technique of breaking down your soil and creating air pockets in it. Core aeration creates deep, finger sized holes in your lawn. In the process it breaks through the thatching and ventilates the soil. Core aeration is one of the more natural and beneficial things you can do for your lawn in order to give it additional air space and ensure that it remains healthy.

If you have a small yard, then a manual aerator will do just fine. Or, if you also want to get a good physical workout, you can invest in a pair of yard aerator sandals. These are simply sandals with spikes on the bottom so that as you walk around your yard or garden, you simultaneously poke holes in it. Of, if you don’t want to do it yourself, get a pair for your children. They’ll love it. But any spiky type of shoes will do – even spiked golf shoes.

If, however, you have a huge yard, you should seriously consider visiting your local garden center and either renting or buying an engine powered aerator.

But don’t think that buying or renting a garden aerator is your only choice. Many lawn care services already have aeration equipment and will be more than happy to provide this service for you. In fact, core lawn aeration is becoming so popular that many lawn care services offer it as a regular part of their maintenance plans. If the price is right, you may get more value for your money by going this route. Simply check with your neighbors and local garden equipment supply shop for references.

Whichever route you end up taking, realize that periodically giving your lawn a good airing out, will not only improve its appearance but will help to keep it healthy for years to come.
